ForXoops, the launch pad for XOOPS 2.7

ForXoops, the launch pad for XOOPS 2.7

Following the withdrawal of Richard Griffith for health reasons, to take over the management of the XOOPS core development team, we welcome Nicolas Andricq aka ForMuss, aka ForXoops on Github, a Frenchman.
He's not new to the community as he worked on the core a few years ago.

Here's a brief summary of his background:
Quote:

Hi, I've known XOOPS for about 20 years.
I made a name for myself by creating a module that enabled a Theme to be included in XOOPS administration, which didn't have this concept at the time.
I was Team Leader for almost 2 years, working on the start of XOOPS 2.5.x with a link to version 2.6.0, but this was too advanced to be compatible with existing modules.
I am now a Lead Developer in my company, and I use XOOPS in conjunction with our ERP to manage a product catalogue and an eCommerce with the oledrion module.

Nicolas, taking over the direction of development and with the changes he will be proposing, is starting on a XOOPS 2.7 version.

Note:
At the time of writing this article, we are on the cusp of a XOOPS 2.5.12 RC1 version.
Nicolas will be supported by a companion with whom he has already worked on version 2.5.x, a developer we all know here at monxoops.fr.
It's Gregory aka GregMage, our favourite Swiss with his batch of Modules from the XMmodules series.

No doubt there will be big names in our community such as Gottfried Gabor aka Goffy aka ggoffy on github, our favourite Austrian with these modules in the wg series, such as wgteams, wgtimelines and wggallery in particular, will make their contribution to the edifice.
By the way, on xoops.org, there was a comment from Goffy:
Quote:
[... ] and I would like to welcome Nicolas very warmly and say thank you for taking over the Core Leader.
I'll try to support you as best I can and my time allows

Your dedicated editor here - I, alain01 - should also be helping with the development of a front-office theme and working on the design of the future back-office theme (site administration).

So that's 3 French speakers in the team, not bad, eh?

I recently got in touch with Eren Yumak alias Heyula, a Turkish designer, a thèmes expert, I would even say, to my knowledge, the most advanced designer in our community.
You think you don't know him? You're wrong. He's the man behind the new design for xoops.org.
He's also done some great XOOPS adaptations of famous themes.
He's very busy but is always willing to help if he can.
Quote:
I haven't been able to dedicate time to XOOPS lately because my work has been very busy, but I always do something for XOOPS.
When my workload eases, I will contribute as much as I can again.

Finally, Michael Beck[/b] aka Mamba aka Mamba7 needs no introduction on Github!
He's been involved in all the versions, all the "Merges"!
He's, as the French expression goes, le "tôlier", le "pilier"! Irreplaceable! The "one-man band"!

Since his arrival, more than 750 commits have been made! An enormous amount of work put in by our... "tôlier" .

Obviously, some of you are also involved in improving and fixing the code.
We're always very pleased that participation remains active and significant in quantity, so don't hesitate to get involved.

In a very forthcoming article we'll be presenting the roadmap planned for the XOOPS 2.7 release.
Some broad outlines have been written, but other points need to be addressed.
