Using Font Awesome icons in a XOOPS theme

Want to use the beautiful icons Font Awesome available for free (in part) in your XOOPS thème?

Then this tutorial is written for you! Note that it will be based on a XOOPS thème but you can follow it using any non-XOOPS theme.

You do not have access to all of this tutorial.

Retrieving the Font Awsome library (Web)

1. Downloading

This is to retrieve the "On-the-web" version of this library, i.e. the version that can be used from a web server.
Go to the download page of the site fontawesome.com .

On the site, click on the button:

Download Font Awesome Free
for the Web

Free and open source styles (collections)

The styles available free of charge for even commercial use are "Solid" and "Brand"

2. Decompressing the file

Unzip the compressed file to 7z format with the free tool

3. Tree structure of the package

The structure is as follows:

We will only need a portion of the files present with only a portion of their contents.
Rather than using a rather large global file for which some of it will never be used, we will only use the 2 free icon types, namely "Solid" and "Brands".
Your website will then load smaller files and only the necessary elements.
